Aesthetic Fellow

Dr. Wu – CV –

What is an aesthetic surgery fellowship?

A fellowship is an additional year of post-graduate training after plastic surgery residency, specializing in facial, breast and body aesthetic surgery.  Aesthetic surgery fellows may be board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and are board eligible for plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Fellows perform the whole spectrum of aesthetic surgery in collaboration with Dr. Grotting.  Dr. Grotting is one of the few plastic surgeons in the country that has a fellowship endorsed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Cindy Wu is the current Aesthetic Surgery Fellow at Grotting and Cohn Plastic Surgery.  She graduated from plastic surgery residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and from general surgery residency at the University of Chicago.  Her clinical areas of interest include aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, breast reduction, aesthetic laser surgery, facial surgery, body contouring, labiaplasty, and skin care for patients of color.  Her current research interests include utilizing 3D imaging software to quantify breast changes in secondary breast surgery, mapping the neurosensory anatomy of the labia, and learning curves in reconstructive surgery.  In her free time, Dr. Wu enjoys travelling with her husband, as well as being a fitness instructor.
